Cookies

We use cookies to identify company users as unique individuals. They help us to register the number of visitors and give us statistics and information about how many users we have on the site and what they do. In certain cases we also use cookies to remember settings that the user makes.

What are Cookies?

Cookies can be likened to small footprints. A special file, a cookie file is saved on your computer when you visit a certain website. The cookie file consists of a certain amount of data with information about what you do when you visit the page. The information about what you did on earlier visits is sent by the web server to your web browser and can then be retrieved from there.

Are cookies dangerous?

No. Cookies are not dangerous. The cookie files are normal text files and cannot contain viruses. The files are small and both Netscape and Explorer only permit a certain number of cookies to be stored in the memory. So there is no risk of your memory filling up just because you allow cookies.

Can I say no to cookies?

Refuse to accept cookies as follows:

Netscape:
Select edit/preferences/advanced. Make settings for cookies.

Internet Explorer IE 6.0:
Select Tools/Internet Options/Privacy and make settings for cookies. You can choose the extent to which you want to accept cookies.

Internet Explorer IE 4.0:

How do I remove my cookies?
Cookie files are saved as text files and can be deleted. To remove cookies first close the web browser. In Netscape go into the cookies.txt file and delete the cookie files. In IE, cookies are saved in a separate folder under Documents and Settings.
